Strathmore Rural Fire Department responded to a mutual aid assistance call for Standard Fire Department. A barn was burning. The fire was under control by the time the first Strathmore units arrived on scene.

Strathmore Rural Fire was called for a rolled over pickup and holiday trailer 8 miles west of Strathmore on Hiway 1. We were stood down enroute as the accident occurred last night and the vehicle was going to be recovered in daylight.

Strathmore Rural Fire Department responded to a single vehicle MVC 1 mile west of Strathmore on Hiway 1. The vehicle lost control on slippery roads and struck a guard rail. The vehicle flipped over and ended up on its side in an irrigation canal. No injuries were sustained.

2010-15 MVC Multi Casualty Page Received Strathmore hall responded 13 miles east of Strathmore on hiway 1 to assist Standard FD with a Multi vehicle collision. Hiway 1 was closed for 2 hours as a result. 1 patient was extricated.

Strathmore hall responded to an MVC on Glenmore trail and intersection of Boundary Road. They were called to an alternate location before arriving for a second call. Langdon Fire Department was also dispatched to this call.

Strathmore Hall responded to a reported motorhome on fire north of Hiway #1 on Range Road 264. Town of Strathmore Fire Department also responded as mutual aid. The motorhome was a complete loss. Minor thermal damage was noted on the siding of a residential dwelling nearby. A second call for resources from Carseland and Strathmore was made when extension to a shop nearby was suspected. No extension was found.

The Strathmore Rural Fire department responded to Maplewood Drive and Mapleleaf Road in Strathmore for a 2 vehicle motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries. The battery of one vehicle was secured and debris cleared.

Snow blowing snow and strong winds today and into Saturday. This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions...Listen for updated statements.
An Arctic cold front sweeping southeastward across Southern Alberta is bringing snow, strong winds and blowing snow. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 centimetres can be expected in many regions by Saturday morning. The front will also be accompanied by strong north to northwest winds resulting in widespread blowing snow and near zero visibilities. Winds near 50 km/h and the falling snow will result in sustained blizzard conditions this evening from the Hanna Coronation region south to Cypress Hills region and then west into the Lethbridge region. Conditions will slowly begin to improve from the northwest early Saturday morning.
In the wake of this cold front much cooler air will settle over the province on Saturday.

Electrical system fault. Ground wire was 'burnt' off causing the fire. Crews made entry via the large overhead door and extinguished the fire. Mutual aid from the Carseland station, and the Town of Strathmore FD assisted with ventilation and overhaul.
The bedroom was added to the garage and partitioned via a cinder block wall from the rest of the structure.
All occupants of the house self extricated

Two cube vans collided at the intersection of Hiway 24 and Glenmore trail after one of the vans failed to yield the right of way.
A male driver of one of the vans was trapped. He feet were pinned between the floor pan, and the brake pedal. Amkus Hydralics were used to displace the A post and firewall to free his feet. He was treated at scene by WADEMSA EMS staff and transported to hospital by STARS

Call 2010-1 was a Jack-knifed B-train semi hauling compressed natural gas. he lost tracking in a snow storm going up a hill on hiway # 1 east of Strathmore and slid backwards causing the train to tangle up. The pup was forced sideways and levered up on 2 wheels. No gas leaks were detected, and the driver was un-injured.
SRFD provided traffic control for about 1.5 hours while a heavy wrecker was dispatched to straighten out the rig
